Kate Middleton’s Weight is Unhealthy

Kate Middleton, who had officially become the wife of Prince William looked beautiful and slim while wearing a wedding dress
that fits her body. Kate is rumored to lose a lot of weight to be able to perform perfectly, to the extent that her weight is not considered healthy.

A British tabloid reported that Kate Middleton had to lose weight since the announcement of her engagement with Prince William last November. Although not confirmed, the British newspaper said the future queen lost two dress sizes, originally from the U.S. size 6 to size 2.

“Basically, this could mean that she lost weight about 10 pounds to 12 pounds or more, and not just body fat,” said Leslie Bonci, director of sports nutrition at tthe University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, according to ABCNews.

According to Bonci, losing weight in that amount (for her body size) is not healthy. But there are some who claim that Kate’s weight loss is still relatively healthy.

“If within a period of 5 months she lost weight 20 pounds, it means that she lost 1 pound every 7.5 days. The recommendation is safe to lose weight is not more than 1 pound per week. So, losing 20 pounds in 5 months is still in accordance with the healthy guidelines, “said Carla Wolper, obesity researcher at St. Luke’s Hospital and assistant professor of Eating Disorders Research Center at Columbia University Medical Center, New York.

Besides mentioning her weight loss is unhealthy, Bonci also said that the ratio between height and weight, Kate is relatively thin.

“Rumors say her height is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs 120 pounds. That weight put her 80 percent of ideal body weight, or certainly thin,” says Bonci.

Observers of the royal family believe that stress is a partial cause of Kate’s weight loss.
“Recently in each successive appearance since she got engaged, she looked thinner and thinner. I imagine she probably could not eat,” said Duncan Larcombe.

But nutritionists in the United States said this stress may be a factor, but he believe there are other reasons behind her weight loss.

“This seems to be a voluntary case, go-on-a diet, a quick way to lose weight,” said Dr. David Katz, director of Yale University Prevention Research Center in New Haven, Conn.
But for some experts, it’s all part of a pre-marriage rituals which is very normal.
